Jooble

Yesterday, I received an incredibly friendly email from an anonymous person who claimed to have read my blog and "loved it." Of course, because my blog is public and anybody can comment anonymously, I was a bit skeptical of this email. Yet, seeing as how this was the first ever "fan mail" I've ever received, I read the email.

It wasn't fan mail, but it was an email from a person who works for a website called "Jooble." Interested by his genuineness and heartfelt compliments of my blog, I took a quick glance at the website. Here's what he had to say about Jooble:
Jooble operates in 45+ countries, so if you would like to find a job in other locations you may try to search jobs in:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia , South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey , Venezuela, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States
Jooble is highly recommended as a job search engine to find a job as it has hundreds of web-sites in its search results with all possible types of jobs. We continue expanding our job database and every day Jooble has more than 100,000 of new job adverts.
I was amazed that I had gotten such a request! I had never imagined that my blog would even ever get to the point where people would seek me out for publicity. I guess crazy things do happen when you stick at them long enough.

So, dear readers, if you have some spare time, or are looking for a job, head on over to Jooble. The site is pretty user-friendly and intuitive, which is much more than what I can say for Monster. I haven't used Jooble nor can I say much about its practical use, but judging from the personal and heartfelt email I've received, it cannot be all that bad.

UPDATE 11/26/2011 : I acknowledge the overwhelming evidence of the scam-like qualities in the comments, but I still wouldn't go as far as to call this "spam." While the person may not have actually read any of my posts, it's not as if he wanted my money or asked for a donation. Therefore, I am not going to delete this post, but rather leave it as a warning to those who receive an email from Jooble to be wary.

On a side note, Monster spams my inbox like no other.

I hate to tell you but the email you recieved from Serge is nothing but spam. A number of us bloggers have been getting it. He writes the same email over and over again just slightly alters the details so that it matches your blog. here is a copy of the one I was sent. I was excited at first too but a quick internet search showed that Serge is making the rounds. While Jooble may be an actual site the way they are going about advertising is despicable.

Hello!

I just want to thank you for your wonderful blog mommywantstoread.blogspot.com.

I read the post "Happy Birthday to Me!" and then I spent another hour on your blog by reading your posts with pleasure :) Every article is interesting and easy to read. I really like the "Kicking the Bucket".

I work for Jooble company, we aggregate job adverts around the world.

My job is to persuade bloggers to link to our site.

I really love my job! We have a friendly team and good management, but unfortunately I have no idea how to convince a blogger to link to us, I'm afraid I might lose my job because of it :(

And that is why, instead of sending letters to thousands of different blogs, I am reading yours.

Honestly, I am not really sure if the link to our website in United States - jooble-us.com, will be appropriate for your blog, but if you believe it will and it is possible to add it, I would be really grateful to you! Our site is really cool, it can greatly help hundreds of people to find a job.

I wish you to have a good day and excellent mood! Thanks again for your nice blog. Write more! Thanks!

Best regards,

Serge Lavange
Account Manager

I got one too this morning for concerning my own blog (http://www.TheRamblingsOfaFrustratedJournalist.blogspot.com) and as much as it comes off as positive on the first read, try reading it closely again and it really doesn't make sense. The English is a bit off, he quotes only my two most recent blog posts (despite claiming to spend an hour going through the blog etc.). It's BS.

My ego felt pretty good for a second too, then reality clicked in.

I mean, I know it's not the most personal thing ever, but he definitely had to spend at least a few minutes of his time on my blog to be able to write me what he did.

I disagree with you, Melissa. I don't think this is "despicable." Sure it's not as personal as I'd like, but for what it is, it's fine.

It's not as if I am some super celebrity with major publicity power, if you read my post about Jooble, it's not that great of a post even.

Hey, Wonmin!

I read your blog and really like it.

I run this website and it would be great if you could post on your blog why people should come to my site.

haha. Just kidding.

PS You should post more.

i hate to say it bu such spams are generated automatically, so this serge orwhoever he is has never spent any time on your blog or read anything. he collects blog titles, emails and names with the help of a program that works like a search engine and generates the same email and sends it to everyone. several people got the same email, me too...

Yep, I got the same message and it's a scam. If it makes you feel better though, I'm a real person and I just read your blog and liked it :-)

Yup, I got an email, too. Ended up emailing a stranger in Colerado who had linked the site in his blog to ask if he had the same email. Wish I'd seen this first. D'oh!

I got one too although I refused them the first time as it was not relevant to my blog. I have added them as a link just to tickle myself with it.

So, I got such an e-mail as well, but ignored it. And now I got a second e-mail in which a Natalia Perez from the Brazilian and Portugese jooble sites politely asks me again to pay attention to her offer... Haha...
